Home Grown Cut Flower Industry is Not What it Appears.

A postal industry insider has revealed to RAVAS that the overwhelming majority of the cut Flowers from the Channel Islands are shipped in by refrigerated container from Holland having been imported into the EU from Kenya and South America.  Flowers are circular shipped out of the EU to The Islands where they are the packed and marked ” Flowers From The Channel Islands” (as opposed to Flowers Grown in The Channel Islands) and then mailed back into the EU VAT free. For years this industry has claimed that its use of LVCR was legitimate yet it appears its being used ‘for a purpose for which it was never intended’ to sell VAT free in the UK.
